Information:
VRTC offers a program that meets the needs of many junior judo athletes at a critical period of their life when their needs may not be fully met at their home judo clubs. By directly supporting athletes at this point, VRTC improves teen retention in judo and increases the likelihood of lifelong participation in judo.
Youth participants are approved by the VRTC head coach based on their maturity and their capacity and commitment to train. Club coaches are consulted in this process to ensure this decision meets the athlete’s needs.

Athlete Training Requirements:
  • 4x per week VRTC training or as approved
  • Follow Team BC program as applicable

Program Benefits
  • Access to VRTC competitive team (travel and coaching support)
  • Strength and Conditioning at Speed Mechanics by Coach Naomi Ogawa
  • Eligibility to join TeamBC
